Feng-Wei Hung

Fengwei is an environmental engineer, a policy analyst, and a hydrologist. He earned his doctorate degree in Geography and Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, concentrating on environmental decision analysis. Dr. Hung’s research goal is to advance theoretical and modeling methods to promote sustainable development in natural and built environments, particularly in four areas: climate adaptation, water and environmental management, human behavior modeling, and infrastructure planning. Previously, his postdoctoral research explored climate change impacts on water resources management in the Colorado River Basin at Lehigh University and environmental flow allocations in data-limited river basins at Utah State University.

Dr. Hung joined ND-ECI as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in July 2022, working under the mentorship of Dr. Marc Muller. He is leading a project to explore how the heterogeneous economic and hydrogeologic conditions in countries sharing a transboundary aquifer cause premature groundwater depletion.
