Martina Havlikova Grecequet is postdoctoral researcher at the Institute on the Environment (IonE) at the University of Minnesota. She is an active collaborator of with ND-GAIN team. Martina's research focus on linking human migration with country vulnerability to the impact of climate change. She is also interested in development and application of global adaptation index in policy making process and exploring a linkages between mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptations to climate change.
Martina earned her PhD in Environmental Science with focus on Environmental Systems Analysis from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Martina has deep research experience in integrated environmental assessment, including model developments and analysis of possible policy strategies and scenarios. Before joining the University of Minnesota, Martina was a working as a policy officer at the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, helping to chair meetings of EU Member States on Air Pollution policy during the 2009 Czech Presidency in European Union.
In 2009 Martina become a postdoctoral research fellow at the Earth Institute of the Columbia University, working with International Nitrogen Initiative (INI) and Agriculture and Food Security Center on development of global and regional nitrogen assessments.
